The picture above Miranda’s bed is Andrew Wyeth’s “Christina’s World.” It’s my mother’s favorite piece of art, and there was always a copy of it hanging in the house somewhere. As a girl, she went to the farm where it was painted. This past January, I saw the piece in person at the MoMA in NYC. (Two days later, Wyeth passed away.) The reproductions don’t do it justice. It’s simply luminous, and if you ever get a chance to see it, please do.
And you can’t really see it, but hanging in the hallway is one of Paul Taylor’s (Wapsi Square) drawings of Wonder Woman. Miranda tends to have my eclectic art sense.
Nice artwork and storyline (not what I was expecting when I read the first two entries!) And coincidentally, I was just looking at the Wyeth painting today. Not the original, unfortunately. Keep up the good work.
Thank you. BTW, what were you expecting with the first two entries?
I expected either mundane world or sci fi comic til the villain gives the elf comment and the dragon showed up during the fall. The fantasy mingling is nifty, and it’s interesting to be able to read your comments that go along with the comic.
I have read through the archives and I find it somewhat amusing that this elf, who most people believe to be fictional, gets so surprised when he sees other supposedly fictional beings.
All in good time. Thanks for reading!
What a nasty bruise he has there. Spider chicks will do that. Also, I dare-say Bowie wouldn’t get himself into such trouble if he changed the kind of girl he went for. Feh.
Let’s face it, Bowie is a bit of a womanizer. Hopefully, he’ll learn in time.
A few more spider women might learn him.
I dunno, he seems like a bit of a slow learner… I’m not sure even that would convince him to change his level from “easy” to at least “medium difficulty” (though there are some fellas who like a challenge)…
