Attention all Costume Type People

My friend Veronica has a costuming website, Storied Threads. She specializes in Renaissance and Middle Ages styles, but she can do any custom pieces that you can dream up. She recently came up with Mini Tricorns, which are fabulous! They’re great for pirate faires, steampunk, and French aristocracy! If you’re looking for the perfect thing to finish off your look, get yourself a mini-tricorn!

Donation Incentives

Hi everyone! I’m going to be offering Swiftriver wallpapers soon through my Donations link. (You know, the little button at the bottom right of the page.) Therefore, I’ve got two questions for all of you.

1. What do you want to see as a wallpaper? Would you like something new every month, every season, every holiday? is there an image you absolutely have to have everytime you boot up?

2. What size wallpaper would you like? Monitor sizes vary so much, but I’d like a general consensus of what size people use.

Thanks in advance!

Proof

The picture above Miranda’s bed is Andrew Wyeth’s “Christina’s World.” It’s my mother’s favorite piece of art, and there was always a copy of it hanging in the house somewhere. As a girl, she went to the farm where it was painted. This past January, I saw the piece in person at the MoMA in NYC. (Two days later, Wyeth passed away.) The reproductions don’t do it justice. It’s simply luminous, and if you ever get a chance to see it, please do.

And you can’t really see it, but hanging in the hallway is one of Paul Taylor’s (Wapsi Square) drawings of Wonder Woman. Miranda tends to have my eclectic art sense.

Special thanks to my husband Tom and my friend Jill for their advice! It sparked quite a few ideas.

If you donate $2 or more, you'll get the whole image. Warning: contains partial nudity so it may not be the best image to have at work.
