A week and a half ago, Desizntech.info listed Swiftriver as one of the “30 Amazing Illustration of Web Comics and Graphic Novels.” It’s an honor to be listed among people I consider some of my illustration heroes. All I can say is I hope to keep improving., and hope that you all stick around for the ride. You should really check out the other comics listed when you get a chance.
WCRCA? What the heck is that? Why, it’s the Webcomic Readers Choice Awards, hosted by WebComic Planet! Time is running out, and I’d love for you to nominate Swiftriver. There are several different categories, such as Art, Writing, best New Comic (hint hint). But be careful, you only get one nomination per category. Thanks in advance, guys!
Some of you may know that I draw the comic entirely in Photoshop CS3. I use a Wacom 3 tablet and it’s served me very well, once I got past the initial learning curve with it. So now it’s time to upgrade to a Wacom 4, with a bigger active area and more pressure sensitivity. It won’t be here for a few days yet, but I can’t wait to start using it. (Maybe next year I’ll hold a donation drive to upgrade to a Cintiq. A girl can dream.) I’ll let you know how the Wacom 4 works out.
Welcome to all you new readers out there, and hello again to all you people that have been here since the beginning! I felt the need to say this due to the fact I checked my stats yesterday. Swiftriver got over 400 unique hits yesterday, which is pretty amazing. Feel free to look around. If you have any questions, drop me a line.
Just to let you know, the update schedule is weekly at this point. I try to aim for Wednesdays. Eventually, I’d like to get up to twice a week and I’ll let you know when that happens.
Welcome again!
Swiftriver has finally updated from CP 2.5 to C.P 2.8. Ah, the learning curve. Please bear with me as I slowly tweak the site to how I want it. Let me know if you find anything buggy.
