The picture above Miranda’s bed is Andrew Wyeth’s “Christina’s World.” It’s my mother’s favorite piece of art, and there was always a copy of it hanging in the house somewhere. As a girl, she went to the farm where it was painted. This past January, I saw the piece in person at the MoMA in NYC. (Two days later, Wyeth passed away.) The reproductions don’t do it justice. It’s simply luminous, and if you ever get a chance to see it, please do.

And you can’t really see it, but hanging in the hallway is one of Paul Taylor’s (Wapsi Square) drawings of Wonder Woman. Miranda tends to have my eclectic art sense.
